Avenues Recovery

Many seek the help of professional detox programs at the start of long-term substance abuse treatment. Detoxification (detox) centers are an excellent option for those with various substance dependencies, including alcohol, benzodiazepine, and opioid addictions.

When an addicted person stops using drugs and alcohol, the body often begins to experience withdrawal symptoms. Detox center professionals can help ease these symptoms and get the patient through detox as safely and comfortably as possible to minimize the risk of relapse—and facilitate the transition into ongoing addiction treatment. Avenues Recovery works with the finest detox centers to create a seamless transition between inpatient detox and outpatient services ensuring a continuum of care.

Our team of compassionate and knowledgeable clinicians understand how to navigate the system and the need for a smooth process, and we’ll be at your side every step of the way.

Residential Treatment

When individuals receive treatment in an inpatient setting, they’re entering a safe environment where they’re monitored around-the-clock by trained professionals. In this setting, the obstacles, complications, and stresses of everyday life are removed so that individuals can place all of their energy and focus on recovering and getting well again.

Clients enter residential treatment, sometimes known as inpatient treatment, once they’re medically cleared and their withdrawal symptoms have stabilized. Mental health issues are also addressed as a part of the integrated treatment. Co-occurring issues commonly treated are depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and other trauma conditions.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program, or PHP, is a comprehensive, structured, clinical treatment alternative to traditional residential inpatient treatment.

In PHP, clients spend approximately five hours a day, five days a week at our treatment center. The program offers many of the same services as an inpatient residential program, but with the added benefit of patients continuing to live in the comfort of their own home or a residential facility. Many clients seeking treatment for addiction prefer the partial hospitalization program because it provides the needed treatment with minimal interruption from daily routines.

While in PHP, clients participate in a variety of activities, including group therapy, individual therapy, evidenced-based treatments, holistic therapies, recreational activities and more.

When a family member is struggling with addiction, it disrupts the family dynamic— placing unbearable stress on family members. Avenues Recovery treats addiction as a family issue and offers ongoing support and guidance to the patient’s loved ones. Including families in the treatment plan is key to ensure a truly successful rehabilitation program.

Avenues Recovery offers free transportation services for those enrolled in our program.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

The intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is an addiction recovery treatment that provides intensive clinical therapy and counseling. Patients maintain their employment and life responsibilities.

IOP is a treatment option for those who’ve been able to establish abstinence and recovery or as part of a step-down from residential or PHP. IOP helps patients continue to develop recovery skills and incorporates additional education and therapy, including leadership training, relapse prevention, and communication skills.

While attending Avenues Recovery IOP, clients spend 3 to 4 hours per day, 3 days a week in our treatment center, while also being able to focus on their work and family life. We customize a program for every individual to ensure a seamless path to recovery.

Outpatient (OP)

Traditional outpatient therapy is recommended as a maintenance tool for those who have graduated to higher levels of care and are exhibiting solid sobriety.

Avenues Recovery OP program consists of one individual session and/or one group session per week. We customized an individualized program for each client to promote a flexible schedule for a seamless balance of life and recovery—with the length of stay depending on each individual’s specific needs.

Sober Living

The most difficult part of early sobriety is reintegrating into the normal parameters of living while encountering the occasional trigger, but continuing to persevere and remaining sober.

In an inpatient treatment center, patients are totally immersed in their rehab program but generally don’t focus on the reality awaiting ahead.

Sober Living allows individuals in recovery to feel like they’re easing back into normal life and can start going back to their daily tasks and responsibilities.
Although sober living homes are less restrictive than inpatient facilities, they still have rules by which residents must abide, including curfews, drug testing, and group meeting attendance. Residents must follow house rules and are required to complete chores, prepare meals, and actively participate in house meetings.

Part of staying in a sober living home is creating positive camaraderie to reinforce the desire to abstain from drugs and alcohol. This support system allows residents to avoid the isolation that can sometimes come with returning home while in recovery. The interactions in the home become opportunities for people in recovery to build new decision-making and problem-solving skills that will be used throughout their everyday lives.

Avenues Recovery is honored to be working with Crosswalk Sober Living. Crosswalk is located just around the corner from the Avenues’ Pennsylvania campus, and transportation between sites is provided. Sober living allows clients to build relationships with other people in recovery through the teamwork and camaraderie of your shared experience. Residents also learn how to have fun while sober by participating in group activities as sporting events, hiking, rafting, movies, and go-karting, which are offered during the evening and on weekends.
