A recent widespread recall has created a stir in the beverage world, after certain Celsius energy drink cans were accidentally filled with the wrong drink. Instead of the usual popular energy drink, these cans were mistakenly filled with High Noon's vodka seltzer. The mix-up occurred when a shared packaging supplier sent empty Celsius cans to High Noon's manufacturer, who unknowingly filled them with the alcoholic beverage.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the issue was traced back to the use of empty Celsius-branded cans that were shipped to High Noon’s facility and subsequently filled with vodka seltzer. These mislabeled cans were distributed in eight states: Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The affected product is labeled as "Celsius Astro Vibe Sparkling Blue Razz Edition." Consumers can identify the potentially hazardous product by the silver can top (as opposed to Celsius’ usual black top), the UPC codes 085000040065 (High Noon) and 889392001341 (Celsius), and lot codes ranging from "L CCB 02JL25 2:55" to "L CCB 02JL25 3:11.

Consumers who purchased the affected product are urged not to consume it and to contact High Noon at consumerrelations@highnoonvodka.com for a full refund. There have been no reported injuries or adverse health reactions related to the incident at the time of this writing. Celsius has clarified that it was not responsible for the error, emphasizing that the mistake occurred during the production and distribution processes handled entirely by High Noon’s facilities and associated suppliers. The recall is limited to the specific product and time frame noted

This recall highlights the critical importance of stringent quality control measures in the beverage industry, particularly when multiple brands share production resources. The incident also raises concerns for individuals in recovery, who may be adversely affected by the unintentional consumption of alcohol. If you or someone you love has been affected by this or a similar situation, visit Avenues Recovery for support or explore our resources on alcohol addiction.
