Alvin Lemont Person of Elizabeth City is facing multiple felony charges after deputies said four search warrants uncovered fentanyl, cocaine, firearms, and cash. The case comes from a three-month narcotics investigation led by the Northeastern Drug Task Force.

The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office said Person was using multiple residences to store and distribute fentanyl and cocaine across the region. He is now being held at the Albemarle District Jail under a $1,325,000 secured bond.

What Deputies Found During the Searches

Deputies executed four search warrants connected to the investigation, with three in Pasquotank County and one in Camden County. That spread matters because it suggests officers were looking at more than one location tied to suspected drug storage and distribution.

During the searches, authorities seized about 263 grams of cocaine, about 41 grams of fentanyl, and $19,745 in cash. Those numbers are important because larger quantities and cash often point investigators toward sales activity, not only personal use.

Deputies also recovered three firearms: a .40 rifle, a .40 handgun, and a 12-gauge shotgun. In drug investigations, weapons add another layer of risk, especially when officers believe narcotics are being stored or moved through multiple homes.

Charges Filed Against Alvin Person

Person faces two counts of trafficking in fentanyl, along with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver fentanyl. Those charges carry serious weight because prosecutors usually treat fentanyl cases as high risk due to potency and overdose danger.

He was also charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Deputies added three counts of maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances, which points back to the alleged use of multiple locations.

The remaining felony charges include two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of exposing a child to a controlled substance. Person is being held at the Albemarle District Jail under a $1,325,000 secured bond.

Why This Case Raises Public Safety Concerns

This case raises concern because deputies say Person used multiple residences to store and distribute fentanyl and cocaine. When drugs are spread across homes, enforcement becomes harder, and the risk moves closer to neighbors, visitors, and people inside those spaces.

The combination of fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and firearms also matters. Each element suggests a case with higher danger, especially when deputies recover weapons alongside drugs that can move quickly through local networks and cause serious harm.

The child exposure charges add another serious layer. Drug cases are not only about sellers and buyers when children may be nearby. Investigators will likely treat that detail as central because it points to risk inside the home itself.

Endnote

Cases like this keep the debate focused on whether major seizures can actually slow local drug supply or simply interrupt one part of a wider network. Four search warrants and a $1,325,000 bond show authorities are treating the case seriously.

What comes next will likely depend on court proceedings and how prosecutors connect the seized drugs, firearms, cash, and residences. The child exposure charges may also draw close attention, since they raise safety concerns beyond trafficking alone.
