Joseth Sass, MS, LPC

Clinical Director

Joseph has more than 10 years of experience working with clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. He conducted addictions research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he authored/co-authored over 10 publications as well as national/international presentations on various aspects of addiction. Before joining Avenues, Joseph held several clinical positions as such prestigious institutions as Johns Hopkins Medical Center.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Joseph earned a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the William E. Arnold Award for outstanding contributions by a student. He is currently completing his dissertation for his PhD in counseling education and supervision from Loyola University, Maryland.

Among his various credentials, Joseph is a National Certified Counselor and has a certification in substance abuse counseling.

Bob Caputo, CADC, CCDP

Addictions Counselor

Bob has over 28 years of experience in the mental health/addictions field, including  work with the co-occurring/severely mentally ill population. He served as Director of Drug and Alcohol Services for 15 years at Project Transition.

In his work with people who suffer mental health issues, Bob practices a style of therapy that focuses on the here-and-now and the 12 Steps to recovery—helping clients learn to live more productive lives and achieve goals they never dreamed of. Married for 26 years, Bob has four children and five grandchildren.

Kenn Moreno, MA, CAADC

Addictions Counselor

Kenn has more than 6 years of experience in the fields of addictions counseling/dual diagnoses. Before joining the Avenues team, he worked with clients with mental health issues at Creative Health Services, Eagleville Hospital, and Livengrin Foundation. Kenn primarily uses cognitive behavior therapy and reality therapy in his individual counseling sessions, but he also believes in tailoring each session to the client’s needs. He is passionate about helping people overcome addiction and maintain sobriety—and enjoys getting to know each client on a personal level.

Kenn received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and his M.A. from Immaculata University. An avid pet lover, he has seven cats and two dogs, all rescues.

Warren Jones, AAS, CRS, CPS, CAAC

Certified Addictions Counselor/Certified Recovery Specialist

Warren has more than 8 years of experience in the addiction recovery field after going through his own personal journey out of addiction. He has been clean and sober now for more than 11 years. Prior to joining Avenues Recovery, Warren worked in a hospital setting, treated individuals with addiction disorders. Believing that the best successes in recovery are achieved through a team effort, he uses a motivational style of therapy combined with cognitive behavioral therapy to foster personal growth and spiritual development.

Warren structures his own life around recovery based activities and helps his clients learn to do the same.

Stephanie Menta, MS,LPC

Clinical Supervisor

Stephanie has 10 years of experience working with clients with mental health disorders, addiction and severe behavioral issues. During that time Stephanie has served as a counselor and then as a Clinical Director where she helped organize and implement training for her staff, while overseeing the general operations of the Clinical Program.

Stephanie received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia and her Master’s in Counseling from Capella University in Minnesota where she is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota, a counseling academic and professional international honor society. Additionally, Stephanie is a licensed professional counselor, and is certified in TREM, a trauma recovery and empowerment model which is a fully manualized group intervention designed to facilitate trauma recovery among women with histories of exposure to sexual and physical abuse.  Stephanie is also in the process of obtaining her CAADC (certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor).

In her spare time Stephanie enjoys running, hiking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her three sons, family, and friends.

Michael Mancuso, CAAC, CRS

Addictions Counselor

Mike Mancuso is a Certified Addictions Counselor as well as a Certified Recovery Specialist. For the past nine years Mike has worked in the field helping individuals with both co-occurring and substance use disorders. Mike has had extensive training in the mental health field and was the recipient of the 2015 Loren H. Crabtree Innovation in Recovery Award.

Mike emphasizes that relationships are essential in building strong foundations in both treatment and recovery in order to sustain long-term abstinence. Mike’s unique, strength-based approach encompasses the idea of finding “the diamond in the rough” and uses that as a tool in promoting healthy growth.

Kelsey Irving, MS, CAADC

Addictions Counselor

Kelsey’s goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment to help you grow into the person you want to become. Having earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University, Kelsey is a well-rounded professional who can address both mental health and addiction issues in therapy. She is well-trained in various therapeutic techniques, such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive restructuring, and family systems therapy. Ultimately, she will work with each client to determine which type of treatment is most beneficial for his or her unique needs.

Kelsey practices mindfulness, exercise and self-reflection on a daily basis, and encourages her clients to do the same.
