Maya Cooper

Maya Cooper serves as a Primary Counselor at Avenues Recovery Center at Metairie. Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, Maya earned her education through the Sober College School of Addiction Studies and holds a RAC certification. She is currently furthering her education through a certified life coaching program.

Maya chose this field because of her deep passion for helping individuals overcome addiction and rebuild their lives. Coming from a family deeply affected by substance use, including struggles within her own home, she has seen firsthand the impact addiction can have on both individuals and families. Her approach to treatment is honest, practical, and focused on preparing clients for life beyond treatment—helping them navigate difficult conversations, rebuild relationships, and face challenges with accountability and self-awareness. Maya is passionate about empowering people to embrace their truth, learn from their past, and create meaningful change in their lives.
