Avenues Recovery Center is a New England drug and alcohol detox center and inpatient rehab facility located a short drive from Boston MA. Individuals needing alcohol or drug detoxification and further addiction treatment benefit from our unique programs and drug rehab plans tailored to their strengths and weaknesses.

Our staff of alcohol and drug detox treatment professionals focus on rebuilding clients through each stage of drug rehab, from helplessness through stability. Our medical stabilization program and residential clinical treatment program have been changing lives for over half a decade. At Avenues, we treat the whole person – body, mind, and spirit, you will receive personalized care in a clean, modern, home-like setting.

The Avenues Recovery team is acutely qualified for the most at risk and vulnerable, staffed with a physician, psychiatrist, and licensed counselors.  Our case managers will address any legal, family, or FMLA complications, and most of all focus on workforce reentry.

Residence

Avenues Recovery Center works conjointly with Sober Living New Hampshire in Manchester NH. Sober Living New Hampshire offers the opportunity to engage clinical treatment while residing out of familiar surroundings. In addition, SLNH maintains stepdown sober apartments for clients post treatment that want to continue living within their support system. Sober Living New Hampshire consists of three separate properties, two for men and one for women. Each home is directed by a live-in staff member ensuring 24-hour support, accountability, and safety. Nightly 12-step meetings are a must, along with group activities and responsibilities. The residences, with their rustic feel, offer a safe, private, and holistic environment steeped in the principals of the 12 steps. With only a one hour drive to the White Mountains, Lakes Region, and the ocean, guests can experience some of the best parts of New England’s outdoors, while still residing in the state’s largest city. From the front door to downtown is just a moderate walk, passing outdoor restaurants, coffee shops, and unique attractions.

Wendi Bedard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master of Science in Nursing- Leadership and Management from Walden University. In her accomplished 15-year career in substance use treatment, Wendi has worked in a variety of capacities, serving as a floor nurse, nursing supervisor, clinical nurse educator, as well as an AVP of nursing overseeing multiple states

Shei is dedicated to excellence in patient care, committed to utilizing evidence-based practices, and passionate about helping individual and families affected by addiction and co-occurring disorders.  Wendi is a recovery advocate in the truest sense, recognizing that addiction is a chronic, progressive, and relapsing disease.  She believes everyone seeking recovery can be successful when armed with the right tools.

Emily Wilkins, LCMHC, MLADC has worked in the addiction field for over a decade. Emily has a background in family therapy and clinical mental health counseling and brings a trauma informed approach to her work with clients struggling with addiction.

Prior to becoming a director, Emily worked as a BHT, family therapist, individual therapist, and a clinical supervisor. Her wide-ranging experience has given her a broad perspective.  She understands the importance of each role in treatment, and has an uncanny knack for supplying the necessary guidance and support to ensure that each member of her clinical team is primed for success.

Emily approaches substance use treatment  with an unceasing  positive outlook and believes deeply   that each client deserves unconditional kindness and respect, regardless of the behaviors they are struggling with. 

Mary joined the Avenues team in December 2021 after 17 years working at residential SUD treatment centers in Keene and Dublin, NH.  During that time, she held a number of roles, ranging from office assistant to program director, with a focus on non-clinical duties such as billing, HR, health and safety, and quality assurance. 

Mary has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Massachusetts and was the office manager for her family’s tree service business for many years before changing careers.  She often reflects on how rewarding it has been to  build a career in substance use disorder treatment, with real opportunities every day to work with dedicated and committed coworkers supporting individuals on a difficult path.

Mary also enjoys knitting and other creative arts, trying new foods, and is a rudimental snare drummer.

Jane has been providing counseling services to a diverse population of individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders for over 8 years. She began her career as a counselor during her internship while still an undergrad student and went on to receive her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through New England College. 

Jane now holds masters level licenses in addiction and mental health counseling and has received additional training in Trauma Informed Care, Acquired Brain Injury, EMDR, and Clinical Supervision.  She has found that she thrives in the atmosphere of residential treatment and the family like work environment.  Jane loves to learn and to grow and enjoys sharing her belief that all those she works with have this same potential when provided with encouragement and support. 

Ben graduated from Antioch University in May 2021 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Concentration in Substance Abuse. Since his very first semester in grad school, Ben has been drawn to be of service to the people that are suffering from addiction. He enjoys working at Avenues since his higher purpose & the long-term care model of Avenues are so perfectly aligned.

Ben approaches therapy with an existential framework and utilizes an eclectic approach to treatment, understanding that each individual is unique and is motivated and inspired differently.  As Carl Jung said “Know all the theories, master all the techniques. But touch a human soul be just another human soul”.

Ben has a dog named Yoda who is his best friend in the world.

Kayla has worked in the addiction field for the last 2 years. Kayla obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She is certified in treatment of Veterans in Recovery as well as utilization of Accelerated Resolution Therapy and looks forward to furthering her education  by obtaining her LDAC as well as a Master’s in Addiction in the near future.

Prior to entering the substance use treatment field, Kayla worked in varied roles, ranging  from customer service to Direct Support of developmentally and mentally ill clientele.

 Kayla is always up for a challenge and will always provide a listening ear and safe space for her clients to turn to .She is extremely passionate about substance use treatment and helping  those suffering from addiction. as she knows this community is often forgotten or dismissed by society.

Kayla is excited to see what the future holds for her at Avenues Recovery in Dublin, NH, and looks forward to continuing to helping those that need it most.

Susan has been working as a counselor for over 4 years and has been at the Dublin site for close to 7 years. 

She loves what she does for the simple reason that HELP is needed, and each patient deserves the best support possible. Susan feels that Avenues offers fabulous services for clients to begin the self- discovery it takes to make positive changes.

Susan is proud to be part of the Avenues team and truly enjoys watching the clientele make and reach goals. She draws great satisfaction from observing the changes clients implement that drive them them to continue on their path of sobriety. 

When not at work, Susan spends time with her husband swimming in the pool or going to the beach (and eating lobster while there). They also love to kayak, fish, go to flea markets and be with their friends!!
