When you're looking for addiction treatment, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Every program promises the same things : compassionate care. Experienced staff. Lasting recovery. You probably feel like you’ve heard these buzzwords more times than you can count.

So how do you know which facilities really meet the highest standards?

One of the clearest indicators is accreditation from The Joint Commission (TJC).

The Joint Commission is an independent, nonprofit organization that evaluates healthcare providers across the United States. For more than 70 years, it’s been recognized as the nation's leading accrediting body for hospitals and behavioral health organizations. Earning The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® is not automatic - it requires facilities to undergo a rigorous evaluation process and continually demonstrate excellence in patient care, safety, and clinical quality.

All 19 Avenues Recovery facilities are accredited by The Joint Commission.

So what does that actually mean?

It means every Avenues location has been carefully evaluated against nationally recognized standards for quality and safety.

During the accreditation process, seasoned surveyors visit each facility to assess virtually every aspect of care. They review policies and procedures, observe staff in action, inspect the physical environment, evaluate medication management, examine clinical documentation, and interview both staff and leadership. They also look closely at how organizations protect patient rights, respond to emergencies, reduce risks, and continuously improve the care they provide.

Accreditation isn't a one-time achievement. Facilities must consistently maintain these high standards and undergo regular reviews to keep their certification.

Why should this matter to you?

When you or someone you love enters treatment, you deserve confidence that you're receiving care built on proven best practices—not shortcuts.

Joint Commission accreditation means you can expect:

    • A strong commitment to patient safety.
    • Evidence-based treatment and clinical practices.
    • Qualified, highly trained staff.
    • Clear policies that protect patients' rights and dignity.
    • Ongoing quality improvement to ensure care continues to meet the highest standards.

In short, accreditation provides reassurance that a treatment center has invested the time, resources, and accountability necessary to deliver exceptional care.

But accreditation is only the beginning.

At Avenues Recovery, we believe excellent treatment is about more than meeting standards—it's about exceeding them.

The Joint Commission confirms that our clinical programs, medical services, and operational practices meet nationally recognized benchmarks. But what truly sets Avenues apart is the way we care for people every single day.

Every policy, every process, and every clinical decision is built around one simple goal: giving people the safest, highest-quality care possible while treating them with compassion, dignity, and respect.

A standard you can trust.

Choosing a treatment center is one of the most important decisions a person or family can make.

Knowing that every one of Avenues Recovery's 19 facilities is accredited by The Joint Commission means you don't have to wonder whether quality and safety are priorities, because they're built into everything we do.

Accreditation is more than a certificate hanging on a wall. It's an ongoing commitment to accountability, excellence, and providing the kind of care every person deserves as they begin their recovery journey.

At Avenues Recovery, that commitment is one we'll never stop making.
