Primary Counselor

Montana Eichelberger

Montana Eichelberger serves as a primary counselor at Avenues Recovery Center at Metairie. Originally from Louisville, Mississippi, she brings to her work a deep commitment to healing and empowerment. Montana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from The University of Southern Mississippi, and went on to receive her Master of Arts in Counseling Education from Xavier University of Louisiana.

Montana’s passion for addiction treatment began during her practicum and internship at Avenues, where she developed a genuine dedication to helping individuals feel seen and supported in their recovery. Inspired by her own family’s experience with addiction, she approaches each client with compassion, empathy, and a desire to understand their unique story.

With eventual plans to pursue a Doctorate focused on trauma interventions for pregnant African American women, Montana is also passionate about making mental health and family planning services more accessible. Her long-term vision includes becoming a certified doula or midwife and opening a clinic dedicated to women and children.

Outside of work, Montana enjoys traveling with her mom and sister, going on adventures with friends, attending concerts, reading fiction, and exploring new restaurants in New Orleans. Whether she’s walking with friends or watching her favorite shows, she values connection and joy in all aspects of life.
