Timothy Smith, 58, and Amanda Henderson, 57, were arrested after Henry County deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Mars Drive in Axton. Both were found inside the residence and later charged in the case.

Suspected crack cocaine, a firearm, about $744 in cash, and two vehicles were seized during the investigation. Sheriff Wayne Davis gave the case a blunt local frame, saying drug dealers “profit from addiction and destruction” and will not be tolerated in Henry County.

Search Warrant Executed on Mars Drive

At approximately 6 a.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed the narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Mars Drive in Axton. The timing suggests deputies planned the operation carefully, with safety and control in mind.

Officials said the warrant followed an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics. That detail matters because deputies were not describing a random visit to the home, but a targeted search tied to suspected cocaine sales and evidence gathered before the operation.

Smith and Henderson were both inside the residence when deputies entered and later faced charges connected to what investigators reported finding. In a case like this, location matters because prosecutors must link people, evidence, and the searched property clearly.

Drugs, Firearm, Cash, and Vehicles Seized

Investigators said they found suspected crack cocaine, a firearm, and approximately $744 in U.S. currency during the Mars Drive search. Those items matter together because drug cases often become stronger when police report narcotics, money, and weapons in the same place.

The firearm is especially important because Smith faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also faces a separate charge tied to possessing a Schedule I or II drug while possessing a firearm, which raises the seriousness.

Deputies also seized two vehicles from the property as part of the investigation, a 2008 Mercedes GL 450 and a 2010 BMW 328i Convertible. Vehicle seizures can matter when investigators believe property may be connected to narcotics activity or proceeds.

Charges, Bond, and Ongoing Investigation

Smith is being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center with no bond. He faces charges for possession with intent to sell cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possessing a Schedule I or II drug while armed.

Henderson is also incarcerated at the Henry County Adult Detention Center, with bond set at $1,500. She faces a possession with intent to sell cocaine charge, tying her case directly to what deputies said they found during the Mars Drive search.

Sheriff Wayne Davis said drug dealers “profit from addiction and destruction,” adding that Henry County will not tolerate that activity. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials asked anyone with narcotics information to contact the sheriff’s office, Crime Stoppers, or Tip411.

Endnote

Debate around local narcotics enforcement in Henry County often centers on how far deputies should go when homes, firearms, cash, and seized vehicles appear in one case. Here, the Mars Drive search raises the usual question of public safety, evidence, and proper procedure.

What comes next is the ongoing investigation and any new information from Henry County officials. Prosecutors will have to connect Smith, Henderson, the Mars Drive residence, suspected crack cocaine, the firearm evidence, $744, and the seized Mercedes and BMW to the charges.
