How the Woodbridge Smoke Shop Investigation Began
Prince William County police said the investigation began after anonymous complaints earlier this year about the Rat Pack Clubhouse on Richmond Highway. That detail matters because the case did not start with a random search, but with tips pointing officers toward one business.
In March, Virginia State Police reported intercepting a package containing around 150 pounds of marijuana bound for Prince William County. Around the same time, North Carolina Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle carrying around 280 pounds of marijuana, according to police.
Investigators later determined the Rat Pack Clubhouse was allegedly trafficking drugs to North Carolina. That finding gave the Woodbridge case a wider direction, because police were no longer looking only at store activity, but at possible movement between Virginia and another state.
What Police Reported Finding During the Searches
As the investigation continued, detectives identified 5 locations of interest and searched them. Four were in the Prince William County area, including the Rat Pack Clubhouse, while one was in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, according to police records.
At the clubhouse, investigators said bulk marijuana and mushrooms had been manufactured into wax, oil, vape cartridges, and edible products. Police said those products were meant to be sold online or in person at the store, which widened the case.
Across the searches, PWCPD reported more than 8,200 grams of marijuana, 1,900 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, THC gummies, vape cartridges, oils, wax, pre-rolls, edibles, kratom, 5 kilograms of cocaine, about 2 grams of fentanyl, 3 vehicles, and 3 guns.
Who Was Arrested and Who Remains Wanted
Prince William County police said Wilquins Charleston, 50, of Woodbridge, was arrested on June 23. Jacob Wiley, 28, of Norfolk, was arrested on July 3. Both arrests came after detectives tied the investigation to the Rat Pack Clubhouse in Woodbridge.
Charleston was charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 5 pounds of marijuana, according to police. Wiley was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II narcotic and possession of a firearm with illicit narcotics as well.
Matthew Pollard, 25, of Alexandria, remained wanted as of Wednesday, police said. He faces marijuana distribution-related charges, including conspiracy to distribute more than 5 pounds and possession with intent to distribute more than 5 pounds as a third subsequent offense.
