Primary Counselor

Alexis Newcomb

Alexis Newcomb serves as a primary counselor at Avenues Recovery Center at Prince Frederick. Originally from O’Fallon, Illinois, she is passionate about mental health and addiction recovery. Alexis holds an Associate’s in Arts and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. Currently, she is just two semesters away from earning her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

Alexis chose this field because she loves spreading awareness about behavioral health and its impact on everyday life. She is dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental health and addiction, believing that recovery is a journey of empowerment. For her, there is nothing more rewarding than helping individuals regain control of their lives.

Outside of work, Alexis is known as "Aunt Lovey" to her seven nieces and nephews. She is also a proud dog mom to her two furbabies, Gizmo Dean (a poodle) and Roxie Ann (a lab). In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading psychological thrillers, and attempting to bake.
