Jennifer, a beloved nurse at our Avenues Recovery Center in Louisville, Indiana, shares with us why she chose to become part of the Avenues team.
‘My decision to work here at Avenues' residential treatment center was caused solely by my daughter. My daughter struggled with substance use disorder, and went through the Avenues program and graduated successfully. When she walked out the door, clean and sober, I cried tears of pure joy and indescribable relief. For the first time in years, I was able to actually SEE, speak to, and connect with my daughter – and become acquainted with the wonderful person she had become.
My daughter’s transformation inspired me tremendously, and taught me the life-changing power of recovery. I knew at that moment that I needed to be a part of Avenues. I saw what a massive impact the program had on my daughter’s life, and I want to share that opportunity with others. I believe in it with all of my heart.
I absolutely love being a part of Avenues. I work with people who are passionate about utilizing what they have learned through their own recovery journeys to make a difference in other people's lives. Watching the light return to the eyes of a recovering client is the most amazing and rewarding sight to behold.
